(Feb. 2, 2016) -- A quick thinking LBPD dispatcher sent a rapid LBPD response that took two robbery suspects into custody after the victim -- inside his apartment in the 500 block of Ximeno Ave. -- was allegedly tied up in a bedroom and appeared to have been physically assaulted.
In a release, LBPD says a caller told dispatch that while talking to his roommate on the phone, he was told there were subjects in their apartment he didn't recognize. The caller said he could hear yelling and some sort of argument in the background before the phone was hung up. [Scroll down for further.] |
LBPD's release says officers arrived within four minutes, encountered a residential robbery in progress and arrested two suspects without incident. Officers subsequently found the victim in a bedroom, tied up and appeared to have been physically assaulted, LBPD says, adding that the victim's loss was recovered and the suspects were booked at the Long Beach jail.
LBPD identifies the suspects as Louis Wade II, 25, and Courtney Griffin, 26, both LB residents. On February 1, 2016 the L.A. County DA filed three felony counts on each of the suspects, alleging Residential Robbery, Kidnapping to Commit Robbery, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon. LBPD asks anyone with information about what took place to call its Robbery Detail at (562) 570-7464.
