On Jan. 30, the State of Washington (subsequently joined by the State of Minnesota) filed suit seeking to invalidate parts of President Trump's Executive Order in federal court. On Feb. 3, Fed'l Dist. Court judge James Robart issued a temporary restraining order halting enforcement of the President's Executive Order. In the now-pending proceeding, the Trump administration Justice Department argues that the federal court TRO should be lifted (stayed) which would let the President's order take effect pending a trial on the merits.
