(Feb. 26, 2018) -- Long Beach had two shootings within less than two hours on Saturday night (Feb. 24), within roughly ten blocks of each other both now investigated as possibly gang related. In one (4th St./Cherry Ave., 2nd dist.), the victim was hit and survived; in the other (14th St./St. Louis [one block east of Cherry]), the shooter missed.

They were LB's second and third shootings within two days; on Feb. 23, a man (adult) was found deceased from a gunshot wound after crashing his car at the Anaheim St. onramp to the southbound 710 freeway ( coverage here.)
