Double WLB Shooting, 1600 block W. Lincoln St.

(January 31, 2005, updated Feb. 1) -- A 38 year-old man was shot and mortally wounded, and and a 19 year-old man was shot and suffered less serious injuries, in the 1600 block of West Lincoln St. (neighborhood southeast of Wardlow/Santa Fe) on Sunday morning shortly after midnight.

LBPD Public Information Officer Greg Schirmer tells LBReport.com that officers arrived and found the more seriously wounded man lying in the driveway with multiple gunshot wounds.

In a written release, LBFD says it found 38 year-old Rafael Reyes Trujillo of Santa Ana lying in the driveway of a residence suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he died on Sunday night, January 30 as a result of his injuries.

The second less seriously injured man was transported by acquaintances.

Police believe a person(s) opened fire at the residence where a party was being held. Detectives have no motive for the shooting as we post.

LBPD asks anyone having information to contact its homicide detectives at (562) 570-7244.
