    Here's How To Have Your Xmas Tree Picked Up & Recycled -- Free -- On Saturday Morning


    (January 6, 2005) -- You can have your Christmas tree picked up and recycled -- free -- on Saturday morning Jan. 8 based on information from LB's Environmental Services Bureau web page (www.longbeach-recycles.org):

    "If you have City refuse service, put your Christmas tree out where your trash is normally collected by 7 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, and it will be recycled."

    Caveat: All decorations and stands MUST be removed. Trees over 12’ tall should be cut in half.

    City Hall's web site adds, "Trees should not be left out for collection prior to January 8."

    And if you don't want to wait, you can drop off your Christmas tree Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at one of the following locations:

      5800 Atherton Blvd.
      East of Bellflower Blvd.

    • North Police Substation
      4891 N. Atlantic Ave.
      at Del Amo Blvd.
      Enter on 46th St.
