The free event drew a large crowd for the snow and other displays and attractions.
Familymembers (many armed with digital cameras) captured thrilling moments.
"This is all about community involvement, a great chance to get outside and get together," said Councilman O'Donnell as constituents (young and adult) shook hands and exchanged greetings.
Among the attendees, Los Altos area realtor Joe Sopo.
The Port of Long Beach's booth offered free Green Port pencils and illustrated Activity Books for children. Some pages: "Ships from around the world call at the Port of Long Beach" and "International trade is big business in Long Beach" alongside text by an illustrated figure who has a Port-related job or benefits from Port activities. "I am just like you, a kid here in the USA," says the illustration of a child. "I have toys, clothing and shoes that were imported through the Port of Long Beach."
And immediately next to its booth, the Port offered free Green Snow Cones, reinforcing PoLB's environmentally cognizant Green Port policies.
