Weds Wave Of Storm (Jan. 20) Shows Street Flooding on PCH/Orange; Pix As Lakewood Blvd. Closed At Runway Tunnel When Land/Mud Slips/Slides Onto Roadway
(Jan. 21, 2010) -- LBReport.com shows below what happened in LB when Wednesday's (Jan. 20) storm (part of a multi-day series) came ashore. LBReport.com readers saw it coming on our front page (www.lbreport.com) and knew about it via our email, Facebook and Twitter alerts.
3:13 p.m., Jan 20 NWS Doppler Radar as seen on LBReport.com
David Kooi shot the video below of street flooding on PCH approaching Orange Ave. on Jan. 20 at about 4:10 p.m. and uploaded it to YouTube.com.
Mr. Kooi separately emailed LBReport.com, "Doesn't look like a good day for these businesses, although the tattoo parlor is still open!"
A few miles away, LBReport.com captured the scene after nightfall, where Lakewood Blvd. was closed between Spring and Willow Streets at the runway overcrossing when water-logged land and mud slipped and oozed onto the roadway.

If you happen to capture photos or videos of rain or flooding (that you'd normally do for yourself; don't do anything special or take any special steps for us), email them to LBReport.com so we can show LB. Our email is: mail@LBReport.com
Remember: LBReport.com was the only LB news outlet that alerted readers to the approaching intense storm cell that produced the tornado warning and street flooding as it headed toward us on Jan. 19 that brought all the street flooding.
And LBReport.com was first (again) to report the likely causes of flooding at both Wilson High and Atherton/Palo Verde areas.
We're proud that LBReport.com broke those stories.
Don't be fooled. There's only one LBReport.com...and thank you supporting independent journalism in Long Beach at LBReport.com.
