LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt tells LBReport.com that at about 10:20 p.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of Gundry Avenue regarding a shooting victim. A preliminary investigation indicates the victim, a 22 year old man from Long beach, was confronted by two male subjects [ages not indicate] and fired upon. The victim was struck multiple times by gunfire. He was transported to a local hosptial in extremely critical condition. Both suspects, male Blacks in their late teens or early 20s, fled on foot. LBPD is investigating the incident as possibly gang related. Anyone with information is asked to contact LBPD immediately. Anonymous tips may be submitted via text or web at www.tipsoft.com

(Jan. 27, 2012) -- LBReport.com has learned that last night (Jan. 26) -- just hours after meeting with 1st Council district residents in the Washington Middle School area (14th/Cedar Ave.) about recent shootings -- a shooting took place about a mile and a half east in the 6th Council district (area 1700 block Gundry Ave.)...with the victim transported to a hospital in extremely critical condition.
