(Jan. 30, 2015) -- A woman was robbed at gunpoint while walking in the El Dorado Estates neighborhood of the 5th Council district on Friday night (Jan. 30).

LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Megan Zabel tells LBREPORT.com that officers responded to the 3200 block of El Dorado Drive at about 9:28 p.m. on Jan. 29, and learned that the woman was walking on the street when a suspect, described by police as an African American man in his 30s, tall and wearing a black and red track suit and red Reebox shoes, allegedly robbed her at gunpoint.

The victim wasn't physically injured [after facing someone aiming a gun at her] and lost her purse, cash and her cell phone.

The suspect took off in a black SUV style vehicle...and remains at large.

LBPD's investigation is ongoing...and anyone with information or who may have witnessed what took place is urged to contact LBPD.

Earlier this month (Jan. 2015), the Estates area south of Wardlow Rd. had a residential burglary (8000 block Falcon Park) about two blocks south of the Jan. 29 armed robbery and a home was also burglarized north of Wardlow Rd. (3400 block Marna.)
