(Jan. 23, 2015, 1:10 a.m.) -- Nearly 2,000 SCE customers were in the dark in parts of Belmont Shore, Naples and the Peninsula for part of Thursday night (Jan. 22.)

LBREPORT.com began receiving reports of the outage from readers (via mobile devices and "hard wired" phones) within minutes. Peninsula readers said parts of Naples appeared dark.

In initial company information, SCE spokesman Michael Padian told LBREPORT.com the source appeared to be a blown vault in the area of LaVerne Ave. and East Appian Way and 1,993 customers were affected.
