(Jan. 9, 2016, 7:50 a.m.) -- LBREPORT.com has learned that at an after-midnight fracas in a bar/cantina in the 1100 block of E. Wardlow Rd. near Orange Ave. resulted in a single shot being fired that hit two people.

The location straddles the LB-Signal Hill line in the general Cal Heights vicinity and the shooting was about 15 feet into Signal Hill.

Signal Hill PD a.m. Watch Commander Sgt. Robert Cravens tells LBREPORT.com (initial information) that at about 1:25 a.m., a disagreement between two patrons escalated to a fistfight and one of the parties (a man) pulled out a gun and fired a single shot...that struck two people (both men.)

Watch Commander Cravens says the two men were transported to a hospital with injuries that appeared to be non-life-threatening; the suspect fled and is presently at large.
