(Jan. 10, 2016, 6:55 a.m., updated 9:32 a.m.) -- LBREPORT.com has learned that a man and woman (appeared to be about in their 20's) walking in an upscale residential area of Bixby Knolls at or about 2 a.m. had a traumatic end to their night: the woman was robbed and the man was stabbed by two suspects (also appeared to be in about their 20s) in the area of Elm Ave./Carson St. (8th Council district.) [Elm is one block east of Long Beach Blvd., two blocks west of Atlantic Ave.] LBPD overnight Watch Commander Lt. John Kenaley had limited initial information at daybreak. He says a male and female suspect exited a vehicle driven by a third suspect, robbed the woman of her cell phone and stabbed the man when he tried to retrieve the phone. The stabbing victim was taken to a hospital with injuries described as "non-life-threatening." 9:35 a.m. Update: Lt. Kenaley says the location was on Carson St. near Elm Ave. Time was approximately 2 a.m. Incident was an armed robbery. (Speculation: suspects may have been driving through the area looking for victims after bars/restaurants closed); there's no evidence of any other factors. Suspect information pending. Time was approximately 2:00 a.m. [Scroll down for further.] |
