(Jan. 4, 2016) -- Artyom Gasparyan, who LAPD alleges has committed a string violent crimes since Dec. 6 including carjacking and murder -- and including a number crimes allegedly committted with Daniel Ramirez, the suspect who on New Year's morning invaded a North Wrigley home, shot two familymembers and stabbed another before shooting himself -- allegedly drove a vehicle the wrong way onto the 5 freeway in the San Fernando Valley this afternoon (Mon. Dec. 4), crashed head-on into a vehicle carrying innocent people including children and LAPD shot and wounded him...and took him into custody. The head-on crash and LAPD shooting closed the 5 freeway for several hours during afternoon rush hour today (Jan. 4). LAPD said in a Jan. 3 release that Gasparyan is wanted in connection with a series of crimes including carjacking, robbery and multiple shootings, including one that killed a man in Panorama City. LAPD says Gasparyan's crimes began on Dec. 6 in Los Angeles, Burbank, West Hollywood and Carson, with the most recent incident the Jan. 1 carjacking in Carson which led to suspect Ramirez allegedly driving off in a carjacked vehicle...and heading into Long Beach for what happened here New Year's Day.
