Teenage Boy Is Fatally Shot, Willmore City/Drake Park Area

(UPDATED with release Jan. 30, 2017 at 11:20 a.m. from Jan. 29 and Jan 28) -- As first reported on Saturday night Jan. 28 with initial information on LBREPORT.com's front pasge, a teenage boy was fatally shot in the Willmore City/Drake Park area of the 1st Council district. It is LB's third homicide of 2017.
[Updated information] In a Jan. 30 release, LBPD states that on Jan. 28 at about 8:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to shots heard in the area of the 900 block of Maine Ave. and arrievd to find a male teen with multiple gunshot wounds in an alley. LBFD transported the victim to a hospital where he as pronounced deceased.
LBPD identifies the victim as Jose de Jesus Flores, 17, of Long Beach and indicates no one is in custody and no suspect information is available. "A motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation remains ongoing. The incident is being investigated as possibly gang-related," says LBPD's release.
