Gunfire Flies, Area San Antonio Dr/Orange Ave.; LBPD Finds Evidence of Shooting But No Victim(s) Located

(Jan. 31, 2017) -- Gunfire flew in the area of the traffic-roundabout in the San Antonio Dr./Orange Ave. neighborhood (border of 7th and 8th Council districts) last night (Jan. 30). No victim was located, but offficers found evidence of a shooting.
LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt tells LBREPORT.com that at roughly 11:40 p.m., officers responded to a shots call in the 4600 block of Banner Drive. Responding officers found evidence of a shooting, but were unable to locate a victim(s). LBPD says its investigation is ongoing and asks that anyone with information contact its Gang Enforcement Section at (562) 570-7370.
This may be the second 8th district shooting within five days. As previously reported by LBREPORT.com, on Jan. 25, a man walked into a LB hospital with a gunshot wound roughly 45 minutes after LBPD responded to the area of LB Blvd./56th St. regarding a possible shooting at an occupied vehicle. LBPD didn't locate any damaged property at that location and at last report was investigating whether the wounded man and reported gunfire were related.
There have been three homicides in Long Beach thus far in 2017: 1st, 6th and 9th Council districts
