(July 1, 2002) -- LBPD found a man beaten to death in the area of Daisy Ave. and Esther St. (south of PCH, west of Magnolia Ave.) in the 1st Council district on June 30.

Responding at roughly 3:30 a.m., police found the victim, a male Hispanic, on the ground next to a parked vehicle. The victim, pronounced dead at the scene, was discovered by a security guard walking in the area.

An LBPD written release says "the motive for this beating appears to have been robbery and investigators have information that three African-American males in an older molde gray hatchback type vehicle may have been involved in the incident."
