News Councilwoman Schipske Schedules Monday Town Hall Meeting On Proposed Parcel Tax & City Hall Spending Budget, July 21, 6 p.m., El Dorado Senior Center
(July 19, 2008) -- Fifth District Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske has announced that she will hold a Town Meeting on Monday, July 21 at 6 p.m. at the El Dorado Senior Center, 2800 Studebaker Rd., "to discuss the Mayor/City Mgm't proposed parcel tax and City Hall spending budget."
In a release, Councilwoman Schipske said:
"I have invited the Mayor and the City Manager to discuss the proposal to place a $120 parcel tax on properties in Long Beach so that the City can fund infrastructure needs. Also, I have asked the City Manager and his staff to discuss the budget which he presented to the Mayor which I understand calls for cuts in several areas. It is important that the Council has the input of its residents before we vote on these issues."
