(July 1, 2009) -- A vehicle somehow flew off the northbound 405 freeway near Lakewood Blvd. at about a quarter to two in the morning today (July 1), prompting an LBFD response.

Engine 17 found the vehicle had plowed through a chain link fence, sheared a tree, collided with another (similar make) vehicle parked on the street and came to rest on Kilroy Airport Way.

LBFD says the "female driver was transported to an area hospital with minor to moderate injuries...no other injuries were reported....a total of 15 firefighters and 2 ambulance operators responded to this incident."
