(July 15, 2010) -- Using information obtained following the release of suspect sketches, LBPD served search warrants at ten locations across Long Beach today (July 15) and arrested two murder suspects and four individuals who allegedly helped the suspects hide from police in connection with a Sept. 14, 2009 shooting in the 200 block of West 20th St. (20th/Pacific Ave.) LBPD says Detectives from its Gang and Violent Crimes Division, SWAT and Directed Enforcement Teams served the ten search warrants and Detectives arrested the following individuals, all residents of Long Beach: Jesus Gonzales, 21, Murder/Attempt Murder One of the individuals arrested today, suspect Flores, was also arrested on charges of alleged witness intimidation in a homicide trial now taking place at the LB Courthouse (separate coverage, click here.) Robert Tripple, age 20, was killed in the Sept. 2009 south Wrigley area shooting; in June 2010, LBPD Homicide Detectives release two sketches of murder suspects in the case. LBPD says ballistic evidence linked the Sept. 2009 murder to an August 21, 2009 attempted murder in the 1500 block of West 20th Street in which the suspects fired into a group gathered on their porch, striking one of victims. "The release of those sketches was successful in providing detectives with the additional leads they needed to identify the suspects," LBPD says. LBPD asks anyone with additional information regarding the murder or shooting to contact Homicide Detectives Todd Johnson or Malcolm Evans at (562) 570-7244. blog comments powered by Disqus
