UPDATED: Victim Has Died; Man Shot In Broad Daylight, 2200 block E. 14th St. (b/w Cherry & Junipero)

(UPDATED, July 10, 4:20 p.m. from July 9, 2012, 7:30 p.m.) -- In a release, LBPD says the victim in yesterday afternoon's shooting (approx. 4:50 p.m., 2200 block of E. 14th St., about two blocks east of Cherry Ave. (between Cherry and Junipero Aves.) was pronounced dead last night (July 9).

LBPD says its preliminary investigation of the events below indicates that the victim and the suspect "were involved in a dispute that escalated into the shooting. It is unknown if the incident is gang-related and there is no suspect information available at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing."

The victim is only identified for now as a 29-year-old male adult from Long Beach until family can be notified.
