(July 9, 2012, UPDATED: 7:05 p.m.) -- Peninsula residents tell LBReport.com that their power was restored at approximately 7:00 p.m...after roughly eight hours. We're awaiting details from SCE on what happened and will add it here as received.
As reported earlier today on our front page, LBReport.com a sizable power outage affected Belmont Shore/Peninsula areas (extending into part of Seal Beach). At its height 3,600+ customers were affected in area bounded by 3rd St. and Seaside Walk from Cottonwood Lane (Seal Beach) to Coronado Ave. (just west of Redondo). SCE spokesman Darrel Ryan tells LBReport.com that power was restored to some of the area as of 12:43 p.m. BUT other customers remained w/out power between San Marco Ave. (on Naples) and Seaside Walk from Santa Ana Ave. to 72nd Place. SCE said the events began at 11:10 a.m. BUT our Peninsula readers report it was about 10:50 a.m. Further as we learn it.
