Today / July 10: Firefighter Kevin Woyjeck (Grew Up In Seal Beach), Who Perished Battling Arizona Wildfire, Is Returned Home

Also aboard the arriving C-130 is Firefighter Chris MacKenzie (from Hemet)



(July 10, 2013) -- Kevin Woyjeck, the 21 year old firefighter who grew up in Seal Beach, attended Los Alamitos High School and perished in the June 30 Yarnell, AZ wildfire, will be returned to the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base today (July 10) aboard a C-130 military aircraft with scheduled arrival at 1:00 p.m. [At such events, times are always subject to adjustment/change.]

Also aboard the aircraft will be firefighter Christopher MacKenzie, who grew up in the Hemet, CA area.

LBREPORT.com plans to provide LIVE video coverage via Community Correspondent Dan Halverson who will be on-scene.

We are told that the public will be allowed to attend. Those planning to be present must show Drivers License for admittance to the military facility. Leave plenty of time to park and for traffic.

LBREPORT.com is also informed that there will be a procession locally for firefighter Woyjeck. We're working to confirm the route and other details and will add information here as confirmed.

Firefighter Woyjeck moved to Prescott, AZ to serve with the elite Granite Mountain Hot Shot Crew, which is part of the City of Prescott, AZ's fire department.

CAVEAT: We don't know how many of those in the City of Prescott photo right were among those who perished in the wildfire.

Mr. Woyjeck's father is Joe Woyjeck, a Captain with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
