ANOTHER North Long Beach Shooting, Bullets Hit Occupied Apt. Bldg Area South St./Lemon Ave. (east of Atlantic) Shortly Before 1 a.m. Monday July 7


(July 7, 2014, 11:10 a.m.) -- LBREPORT.com has learned that Long Beach has had its seventh since Thursday night (July 3). Five of the shootings were in North Long Beach (one of which was a murder.) One was in WLB, another was in Central LB. (LBREPORT.com coverage here and here.)

The latest shooting happened at about 12:45 a.m. today (Mon. July 7) in the area of South St./Lemon Ave., with bullets striking an occupied apartment building...with no persons hit.

LBPD Public Information Officer Marlene Arrona tells LBREPORT.com that at about 12:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to a report of shots heard in the area of South St./Lemon Ave...and arriving officers found that an occupied residential apartment building in the 1000 block of E. South St. had been struck by gunfire.

Officers conducted a safety check and didn't locate any persons who'd sustained injuries

LBPD's investigation on this is ongoing.
