DA Files Five Felony Charges -- Including Murder -- Against Male Res Burglary Suspect In Los Cerritos Res Burg AND LBPD Arrests Male Burg Suspect's Mother, Alleges Her Involvement In The Residential Robbery; DA Is Reviewing Case Re The 80 Yr Old Homeowner Who Shot And Killed A Female Accomplice As She Fled Following The Res Burg
LBPD said the DA's office is reviewing the case pertaining to the homeowner...and LBPD adds that during the review process, "it is not uncommon for the DA's office to request additional investigative follow-up."

(UPDATE July 25, 2014, 7:25 p.m.) -- At late afternoon Friday (July 25), LBPD issued a release indicating that the L.A. County District Attorney's office has filed charges -- including one count each of murder, residential robbery, residential burglary, grand theft of a firearm and a felon in possession of a firearm -- against Gus Adams, 26, of Long Beach, whom LBPD arrested after he fled the scene of the July 22 residential burglary in the area of County Club Drive/Terry Lynn Place where he and a 28 year old female accomplice allegedly physically assaulted the 80 year old homeowner and burglarized his home before he retrieved his personal handgun and fired at them. Both suspects fled; the female suspect was hit and died at the scene.
