Saturday's screening of the Jackie Robinson biopic tells the story of his signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1945 to his 1947 rookie season as America's first Black major league ballplayer. Mr. Robinson and the Brooklyn Dodgers broke Major League Baseball's color barrier; until their historic actions, America's pastime consisted of major league teams with no Black ballplayers and a separate "Negro League" [its official name] with all-Black players. The film is rated PG13. There'll be concessions, stadium seating and room for blankets (but caveat: no outside food or lawn chairs allowed.)
