July 4th: Man Loses His Thumb In Firework Injury, Allegedly Held Onto A Firework As It Exploded


(July 6, 2014, 5:30 a.m.) -- Among the items in an LBPD release (July 5) listing its responses on July 4th is the following:

The Arson Unit responded to an incident involving an intoxicated adult who was injured when he ignited then held onto a firework as it exploded. His injury required the amputation of his thumb. He remains hospitalized.
