(July 12, 2015, 7:05 p.m.) -- Information remains sketchy the day after a pedestrian (a woman, an adult) was struck by a vehicle at Atherton St./Fanwood Ave. (between Palo Verde/Bellflower) across the street from CSULB.

LBREPORT.com was on-scene within minutes, but we have no further details for now.

In very early information on the night of the accident (July 11), LBPD overnight watch commander Lt. Mark Coble indicated that the accident occurred at about 9:25 p.m.; the pedestrian was transported to a hospital; as of midnight (Sunday a.m.) she was reported in critical condition.

He added that the vehicle's driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation.

As of late afternoon Sunday (July 12), LBPD's weekend PIO had no further word on the circumstances. (That's routine for most injury-traffic accidents; we may learn more on Monday.)
