(July 1, 2016, 12:40 a.m.) -- South Wrigley saw a heavy police presence (including SWAT) on Friday night (June 30) after police received a report of a man with a gun in the 1900 block of Magnolia Ave.

LBPD overnight Watch Commander Lt. Greg Schirmer says officers were dispatched to the area, determined that an assault with a deadly weapon had occurred (but not gunfire) and the suspect was seen running through the neighborhood.

LBPD set up a containment perimeter in the vicinity of 19th/Chestnut; SWAT was activated to assist in the search...and the suspect was ultimately taken into custody at about 9:45 p.m.
