(July 29, 2016, 7:20 a.m.) -- Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) agents were busy in West Long Beach on Thursday (July 28), and in Tucson and Denver, serving a total of 32 search warrants and arresting 18 persons, part of [DEA release text] "a long-term federal investigation involving the sales and distribution of synthetic cannabinoids, aka 'spice.'"

DEA says in its release that "synthetic cannabinoids are sold as 'herbal incense' and 'potpourri' under names like K2 and Spice, as well as many other names, at small convenience stores, head shops, gas stations and via the Internet from both domestic and international sources. Overdose deaths have been attributed to the abuse of synthetic cannabinoids, including death by heart attack." Further at this link.] [Scroll down for further.] |
