(July 19, 2016) -- At its meeting tonight (July 19), the City Council on a 5-4 vote chose 9th dist. Councilman Rex Richardson as its new Vice Mayor for the next two years (details below.) The process required no seconds. Richardson was nominated by Gonzalez. Andrews was nominated by Price.

Price spoke in support of Andrews. Members of the public spoke in support of Andrews. The Council voted for Richardson. The vote was: Yes: Gonzales, Mungo, Uranga, Richardson and Pearce. No: Price, Andrews, Austin and Supernaw.
