(July 1, 2017, updated 9:35 p.m.) Updating a story LBREPORT.com reported this morning (July 1), LBPD says in a release that one man has died, among six people transported to hospitals, after a predawn collision involving two vehicles at Anaheim St./Long Beach Blvd. The collision left one of the vehicles on its side...and LBFD applied the Jaws of Life in its response.

[LBPD release text] On July 1, 2017 at 4:35 A.M., officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to Anaheim Street and Long Beach Boulevard on a report of a traffic collision.
(July 1, 2017, 8:10 a.m.) -- Six people were transported to hospitals, three of whom had been trapped in a partially overturned vehicle with one extricated in critical cidition, following a crash at Long Beach Blvd./Anaheim St. at roughly 4:30 a.m. today (July 1.) LBPD overnight Watch Commander Lt. Mark Coble says one of the vehicles was basically wrapped around a power pole. Lt. Coble says LBPD is investigating what took place. and alcohol may have been a factor.
