(July 20, 2018) -- There was police activity in the noon-hour today (July 20) in the parking lot of a business along the busy PCH corridor in the area of Cedar Ave. (border of 1st/6th Council districts.) LBPD says a man got into a dispute with a female acquaintance...and another man who was with the woman allegedly reached into the victim's vehicle and fired several shots at the victim, wounding him.

LBPD's Karen Owners (Administrator of LBPD's Community Engagement Division) tells LBREPORT.com that at about 12:14 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of a business in the 300 block of W. Pacific Coast Highway regarding a hit shooting. Police indicate that a man (adult) got into dispute with a female acquaintance in the parking lot and tried to leave in his vehicle, when a man who was with the female allegedly reached into the victim's vehicle and fired several shots with a handgun, striking the victim.

LBPD says the victim drove himself to a nearby friend's residence, and the friend took the victim to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

LBPD's investigation is ongoing.
