(July 21, 2018, updated 11:25 p.m.) -- In a horrific apparent single-vehicle crash, a vehicle went out of control on Studebaker Rd. at DeLeon St. (south of Atherton St.) shortly before 8:00 p.m. Saturday (July 21.) The southbound vehicle hit a tree, and an unoccupied RV and the impact sheared the vehicle into pieces...with four people inside (two young men, two young women.)
LBFD Firefighter/Paramedic Brian Fisk tells LBREPORT.com that the call came in at about 7:56 p.m. The vehicle was occupied by two men (estimated age: 20s) and two women (estimated age: roughly 18). The vehicle impacted a tree and a RV (motorhome) and also took out some powerlines. LBFD and LBPD responded. LBFD extricated one patient (a man) and transported him and the other male passenger via advanced life support ambulance to a local trauma center. The two women were not transported.
