May 31: Four Teens Shot, One Killed at NLB Party
(June 1, 2002) -- A Friday night teenage party produced a multiple shooting and death in NLB on Friday night, May 31.
LBPD says four teens were shot as they stood in front of a residence in the 5800 block of Orange Ave in the 9th Council district. Police say some Lakewood High School students were having a party when the suspect approached from across the street and opened fire, hitting four teens and killing one (identified as 18 year old Lucino Ramirez of LB). The other teens (from Torrance, L.A. and Lakewood) were listed in stable condition.
Police describe the suspect an African-American male in his late teens to early twenties. No vehicle was seen.
