LBPD Arrests Suspect In Movie Theater Robberies

Theater bandit(June 17, 2003) -- LBPD has arrested George Ford, Sr., a suspect in armed robberies at two LB theaters.

LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt tells LBReport.com that LB police officers arrested Ford on June 16 in Pasadena. Detectives had been following leads and clues, tracked him to a business and the arrest resulted from a joint effort of LBPD's career criminal apprehension team and LBPD robbery detectives, Pratt said.

Police had been seeking Ford in connection with armed robberies at LB theaters on May 18 (200 block of Pine Ave.) and June 2d (6300 block of PCH).

Ford was arrested and charged with kidnapping for robbery and seven counts of armed robbery. He's being held at the LB city jail on $1.8 million bail for the foregoing charges...as well as on additional unrelated misdemeanor warrants.

LBPD asks anyone with additional information to call Robbery Detective Steve Prell at (562 570-5537.
