Will Jim Hankla Give Up Alameda Corridor CEO Post If Council OK's Him As Harbor Comm'r? Read His Response To Our Question

Hankla(June 13, 2003) -- Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA) CEO (and retired LB City Manager) James C. Hankla has responded via email to an inquiry from LBReport.com, asking if he will give up his ACTA CEO position if the City Council confirms his appointment (by LB Mayor Beverly O'Neill) to the LB Board of Harbor Commissioners.

    Mr. Hankla's response follows:

"My appointment to the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners is not final until it is confirmed by the Long Beach City Council. Therefore, it is premature to discuss issues surrounding the nomination until it is taken up by the Long Beach City Council."

The item is set for the City Council's June 17 agenda.
