The Bixby Knolls Street Fair is a major annual event, produced by the Bixby Knolls Improvement Association.
BKIA's web site (www.bixbyknollsinfo.com) notes that the free open-air festival "allows arts and crafts vendors, local business people and food purveyors to set up booths and boutiques [and] is attended by over 10,000 local residents and visitors..."

One of the hot spots was
Nino's Ristorante Italiano. Owners Vincenzo and Inge Cristiano churned out cheese and pepperoni pizzas as fast as they were consumed.
Nino's at Roosevelt Rd. was just one of several locations where food combined with music.
Atlantic Ave. between Bixby Rd. and Carson St. was filled between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Friends of LB Animals president Shirley Vaughan helped staff the group's booth...
...which was alongside a booth for Greyhound Pets of America.
