(June 7, 2005) -- JetBlue CEO David Neeleman is scheduled as "Special Guest" at a June 8th LB fundraiser for the "Long Beach Alliance," a group that surfaced with supporters at an April 27 LB press event with professionally printed signs, bumper stickers...and the services of the powerhouse Washington, D.C.-NYC media management firm, the Glover Park Group.
The "Long Beach Alliance" describes itself on its invitation as "a 501 (c)(4) California nonprofit corporation organized to promote sensible development in the City of Long Beach in order to help ensure our city's future and quality of life."
The invitation says the June 8th event is "a Special Fundraiser Reception to support a sensible improvement plan for our Long Beach Airport." It lists the event's "host committee" as [bracketed titles by us for identification only] Lou Ann Bynum [LB Chamber Board chair], Curt Castagna [Aeroplex Aviation], Mike Donelon [former Councilman], Kristy Ardizzone [JetBlue Airways], Delano Roosevelt [former Councilman] and Kimball Wasick [Cushman/Wakefield, LB NCCJ].
The invitation says "All funds from this event will be used for promoting the Long Beach Alliance public education activities."
[The June 8 event is by invitation and accordingly, we'll report its location after it takes place.]
