(June 6, 2005) -- LB's Dept. of Health and Human Services says water samples from Alamitos Bay area beaches -- except Mothers Beach -- test OK (from samples taken Sunday) following a June 4th sewage spill believed linked to a malfunctioning L.A. County facility on Studebaker Rd. that sent raw sewage into the Los Cerritos Channel.
Beach closure signs will be removed as appropriate...with the exception of Mothers Beach which remains closed as testing continues.
Other LB beaches (including those starting at 72d Place) were not closed.
