(June 4, 2005) -- Sunday June 5th is "CPR Sunday," an annual event organized by LBFD, LB's American Red Cross Chapter and LB's CPR Sunday Committee in which residents can learn the lifesaving technique (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) in three hour classes offered at LBCC's ELB campus (4901 E. Carson St.).
On Sunday, it's just $5.00 for the three hour classes, which will be conducted from 10a-1p, 11a-2p, 12p-3p, 1p-4p. Infant/child certification is available for an additional $5.00 in a six hour class from 10a-4p.
Organizers urge you to arrive at least a half hour before each class to allow time for registration and parking. If a three hour class fills, you may have to wait an hour for the next available class. The single six hour infant/child class may fill...so arrive early.
The classes are conducted outdoors on LBCC's ELB campus so dress casually, wear comfortable shoes, bring a hat and sunblock, water and a snack if you need it.
Organizers hope to break the current Guinness World Record for the most people cerified in CPR in one day. Last year, LBs CPR Sunday certified over 2,100 people.
