Another Earthquake Felt In LB: Thurs. 1:53 p.m., 4.9 Magnitude In Inland Empire

(June 16, 2005, updated post) -- A 4.9 magnitude earthquake (originally rated 5.3) at 1:53 p.m. in the inland empire near Yucaipa was felt throughout LB.

LBReport.com posts a map below showing relative shaking intensities from the U.S. Geological Survey:

LBReport.com received calls and emails at our ELB HQ. We felt the temblor while working away at our computer workstation. A slight shaking developed into a rolling, bouncing movement...and we began getting out of our chair before things calmed down in about five seconds. Two chandeliers were swaying gently.

A central LB reader reported feeling it about a mile east of downtown LB.
