News Worker Loses Footing At Downtown High-Rise Construction Site; Co-Workers Come To His Aid, LBFD Responds With Paramedics Who Treat Him & Get Him Down Safely
(June 16, 2006) -- Shortly after 2:00 p.m. today (June 16), a worker at the 400 W. Ocean Blvd. high-rise construction site lost his footing, fell from framework above the 10th floor, narrowly missed falling through an opening leading down to the 9th floor and landed on a 10th floor deck.

He was aided by co-workers who lowered him to the 8th floor using the building's giant tower crane. That's where LB Paramedic Firefighters were waiting to receive him, says LBFD Battalion Chief/Public Information Officer Jeff Reeb.
LB Firefighters treated the worker on scene and transported him to a local hospital.
