(June 12, 2006, updated text) -- A Sunday night double-shooting in the area of Del Amo Blvd and Clair Del Ave. (east of Cherry Ave.) has left a Paramount teen dead anda relative wounded.
LBPD says that on June 11 at about 9:50 p.m., officers responded to a "shots fired" call. A preliminary investigation indicates that two male occupants were travelling on Del Amo Blvd. when they were struck by gunfire. The victim/driver, Anthony Watson, 16, was dead at the scene from a gunshot wound. The passenger, a 19 year old relative of the decedent, was wounded and is being treated for injuries considered non-life threatening.
LBPD says there's no evidence to indicate there's a connection between this double-shooting and a quadruple shooting on June 10 north of the location (area Cherry Ave/South Street).
In both shootings, LBPD says it has no suspect information and homicide Detectives are seeking the public's assistance as they follow-up on all leads.
Anyone with information is asked to contact LBPD Homicide Detectives David Rios or William Matsubara at (562) 570-7244.
