(June 19, 2007) -- Leaders of the grassroots, advisory West Redevelopment Project Area Committee (WestPAC) have told LBReport.com that they plan a fresh vote in July after a June 13 show-of-hands vote was announced as supporting a proposal by a private firm to construct/operate six electronic message signs along freeways in LB Redevelopment areas (with City Hall receiving a share of net revenue) but a subsequent telephone re-tally cross-checked against a roster of WestPAC members indicated a tie-vote.
The telephone re-tally as reported to us by WestPAC's leadership is:
For the electronic billboard proposal:
Patty Sramek
Nancy McCrabb
Rocky Harter
Jim Cotter
Herman Ibarra
Pat Cullen
Bob Lee
Against the electronic billboard proposal:
Tony Rivera [PAC chair]
Jane Kelleher [PAC vice-chair]
Dan Berns (by proxy)
Paul Collins
Mike McFadden (by proxy)
Ernie Rivera

WestPAC vice-chair Jane Keller said the group's leadership plans to agendize the issue of voting process at WestPAC's June 26 steering committee meeting at which the meeting's next agenda is set.
