(June 20, 2009) -- Two cars waiting to turn left at the busy Bellflower/Spring intersection were hit by an alleged drunk driver on Friday afternoon (June 19) at about 5:40 p.m.
As LBReport.com first reported on our front page within minutes (with follow-up from LBPD), two cars in the Spring-W left turn pocket at Bellflower Blvd. were struck by a car (facing us in photo) traveling at high rate of speed when he turned from Bellflower-N onto Spring-E, overshot the turn, went over the median and crashed into the two cars in the left turn pocket.
One of the cars had a pregnant women inside.
Some individuals on-scene said the second car also had a pregnant woman inside but LBPD couldn't immediately confirm this.
LBPD says no one was transported to a hospital, complaint of pain only.
