(June 29, 2009) -- LBReport.com has additional photos of this weekend's LB Amateur Radio Operators' 24-hour "Field Day" (operations in the field, simulating emergency conditions).
As previously reported on LBReport.com, LB HAMS set up antennas, transmitters and receivers in El Dorado Park to participate in the nationwide event conducted by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), the national association of amateur radio operators.
Wilson High's AREC (Amateur Radio Emergency Communications) team took part. AREC faculty advisor Devon Day (KF6KEE) says they had a successful Field Day. "Four Wilson Radio Team members participated. The AREC radio station performed well. It was a great exercise in cooperation and camaraderie in the world of radio."
