Motorcyclist Is Killed, 5500 block E. PCH, In Collision With <nobr>Pick-Up</nobr> Truck

(June 17, 2012, updated June 18) -- Following-up on a story reported last night (June 16) on LBReport.com, LBPD now has details on the fatal accident last night between a motorcycle and a pickup truck on PCH/

In a release, LBPD says that at about 8:07 p.m., its officers were dispatched to the 5500 block of E. PCH where a preliminary investigation indicates a motorcycle traveling northbound on PCH [release text] "at a high rate of speed" hit a pick-up truck heading southbound that was attempting to make a left turn.

The motorcyclist, a 33 year old LB man, was transported to a hospital where he didn't survive (and hasn't been identified for now pending notification of his family).

The driver of truck, a 66 year old LB man, "was interviewed, cited for making an unsafe left turn and release."
