Video on LiveLeak.com Shows An LBPD Arrest; See It...[UPDATED] And LBPD Statement

LiveLeak.com indicates it was uploaded by someone calling himself/herself "GhostDigga" two days ago (as of June 11).

LBPD has provided additional information to LBReport.com as well as a statement below. LBPD Public Information Officer Nancy Pratt says the incident occurred on June 1 at approximately 2:05 p.m. in a clothing store in the 900 block of Long Beach Blvd. [An off camera video voice says the location is "10th and Long Beach Blvd."] LBPD statement follows video:

LBPD statement:

The suspect depicted in the video was arrested after he interfered with a criminal investigation involving a relative and then assaulted a police officer. During the incident, the suspect continuously ignored the officers' orders, leading to the deployment of an electronic control device to gain control and compliance of the suspect. Once the suspect was taken into custody, he was transported to a local hospital and medically cleared for booking. He was booked for battery on a police officer, obstruction, and for an outstanding warrant, with bail set at $20,541.

Our department has a review process for all "use of force" cases, which automatically includes review by members of our command staff and our Internal Affairs Division.
