(June 18, 2013, updated text) -- LBREPORT.com has received reader reports (thank you) of a telephone poll recently conducted about the Long Beach Mayor's race.
One reader reports that the person on the phone indicated they were in Las Vegas.
[Update] Another reader reports receiving a poll call on Monday (June 17). The pollster asked multiple questions focused on Bob Foster, including about public perceptions of his honesty and if he should or could be allowed to be write-in candidate. There were questions about whether Long beach was better or worse off than it was "a few" or "several years" ago. [end update] No, we don't know what candidate or interest group paid for the poll. We may get some idea when campaign finance reports for the current period are filed by July 31. However, sometimes expenditures like this are hidden within other general expenditures. If you get a political polling call, we suggest you take careful notes on what you were asked. Try to find out as much as you can about what company is taking the poll, and for what candidate or interest group. We suggest you wait until it sounds like you're almost through with the question tree (otherwise they may hang up on you before asking you anything.) Then: email LBREPORT.com mail@LBReport.com and let us know what took place. We regularly report these items.
