Long Beach Police Chief McDonnell Says He WON'T Run For L.A. County Sheriff in 2014
|
(June 11, 2013, 5:45 p.m.) -- In a statement issued just minutes ago, Long Beach Police Chief Jim McDonnell indicates he will NOT be running for L.A. County Sheriff in 2014. In February, Chief McDonnell indicated that was considering a run against incumbent Sheriff Lee Baca...but his statement today indicates he's ruled that out.
Below is Chief McDonnell's statement in full: Over the last several months, I have weighed the decision on whether to run for LA County Sheriff in the June 2014 election. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department is a great organization and the potential to lead that agency would be appealing to any law enforcement leader.
